Pieced Wedding Dress (detail) 2003
Vintage recycled obi silk, ostrich leather, silk, cotton. Made as a wedding dress, this piece has been entirely hand sewn. It is made from antique silks from old ball gowns, Japanese obi’s and purse linings, along with new silks and ostrich leather. It was one of my first major projects working with piecing together fabrics creating an organic colour composition combined with a beautiful fit.
